Speaker: Khoa D. Tran, PhD
Biography:
Dr. Khoa Tran is the Vice President of Research and Technology at VisionGift (Portland, OR, USA), where he oversees pivotal research in eye banking, corneal transplantation, and preclinical
studies of ocular disease. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Oregon, and completed postdoctoral training at Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Tran has co-authored more than 50 publications, many focusing on eye bank tissue evaluation, graft preparation, and clinical outcomes of eye bank–prepared corneal grafts. He serves on the editorial boards of Cell and Tissue Banking and Eye Banking and
Corneal Transplantation, and is an active reviewer for Cornea, Current Eye Research, Acta Biomaterialia, and other scientific journals. Through his work, Dr. Tran is dedicated to advancing eye banking practices, improving corneal transplant outcomes, and developing
new therapies for ocular disease.
